China is a bustling business environment and a market with huge potential. It is essential, however, to enter the market with knowledge.

This webinar will provide an overview of various business models for conducting business in China contractually or through setting up an office. Key considerations addressed will be protecting intellectual property, the human talent available and other nuts and bolts about cross border business. Woven through the discussion will be cultural issues that are important to master before doing business in China.

Robin Gerofsky Kaptzan, Senior Foreign Counsel, Duan & Duan Law Firm in Shanghai, China

Robin Gerofsky Kaptzan is foreign counsel of Duan & Duan, one of the oldest full service Chinese law firms. She is based in Shanghai but is a New York licensed attorney with almost three decades of legal and business experience, with over 20 years in the Asia Pacific region. She assists small (start-up) to publically listed multinational clients with their China business involving structuring & investment strategies, cross-border and domestic contracts, employment, compliance and commercial matters generally. She also acts as a bridge for disputes in China and the USA (i.e.: commercial, labor, intellectual property and regulatory compliance issues).

Robin’s clients include China subsidiaries and their related companies from North America, Australia, UK and Europe as well as government commercial offices and individuals. Her clients are in a variety of industries (i.e.: food, garment, equipment and luxury product manufacturing; distribution; hotels; IT; and consultancy).
